Allison Cara Tolman (born April 2nd 1984) is an American actor from the United States. Best known as Molly Solverson from the FX television series Fargo during its initial season. Tolman has won nominations for Emmys and Golden Globes. Childhood and schooling Tolman is the oldest of two brothers as well as a younger sister. In the early months of her life, Tolman's family moved to England. They stayed there until she turned four. She lived in Oklahoma for 5 years, and after that, West Texas before moving to Sugar Land. She relocated into Chicago in 2009 to attend The Second City Training Center for a course in acting. Career In 2014, Tolman starred in the first episode of FX the black comedy crime show Fargo. Fargo was a 1996 Coen Brothers film, starred Billy Bob Thornton (as Molly Solverson), Martin Freeman (as Bob Odenkirk) and Bob Odenkirk. Tolman was praised for her performance as Minnesota the policeman Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair reported it was clear that Tolman, "calmly" and "assuredly", stole the show. Critics' Choice Television Award, Best Supporting Actress (Movie/Miniseries) and Golden Globe awards were given for Tolman's role. Tolman was cast in a two episode guest role as romance writer Abby Berman on The Mindy Show the following year. In 2015, she was an supporting role on Michael Dougherty s comedy horror film Krampus. Tolman was turned down for roles in supporting characters like best friends, parents, spouses and even husbands after her first big role on Fargo. She was looking for an unusual role. Tolman was a part of ABC's Downward Dog based off the Animal Media Group webseries. The show ended after one year.
